Elden Ring Adds Two Classes in Nintendo Switch 2 Edition

Author : Eleanor May 14,2025

Elden Ring is set to make its debut on the Nintendo Switch 2 with the highly anticipated Tarnished Edition. FromSoftware's epic adventure is bringing a fresh set of bonuses to the table, including new character classes and unique appearances for the beloved steed, Torrent.

During the "FROMSOFTWARE GAMES EVENT Spring 2025" held in Tokyo on May 6, exciting new details were shared about Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition. The event, reported by Famitsu, unveiled two new character classes: the "Knight of Ides" and the "Heavy Armored Knight." While specifics on these classes are sparse beyond their names and appearances, it's known that they will be accompanied by four new armor sets, two of which are included in the edition, with the others obtainable in-game. Fans can also look forward to new weapons and skills being introduced.

For enthusiasts of Torrent, the spectral horse, there's good news: three new appearances for Torrent will be available. These enhancements are part of the Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition, which also encompasses the Shadow of the Erdtree content. Moreover, FromSoftware announced that these additions will be accessible on other platforms through the Tarnished Pack DLC, which will be offered at a budget-friendly price, according to RPG Site.

Introducing new classes is a smart move, especially since many players will likely start fresh on the Switch 2 and may appreciate the variety. This could also entice those who've already explored Elden Ring on other systems to dive back in with new content right from the start.

Elden Ring's popularity cannot be overstated, having surpassed 30 million sales worldwide. This monumental success suggests that the game's arrival on the Switch 2 could further boost its already impressive numbers.

While exact release dates for Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition on the Nintendo Switch 2 and the Tarnished Pack DLC remain under wraps, fans can mark their calendars for a 2025 launch.
