Escape Academy is the Epic Games Store's free game offering for January 16th, 2025. This escape-room style puzzle game, developed by Coin Crew Games, is the fourth free title offered by EGS in 2025 and boasts the highest OpenCritic score of any EGS freebie so far this year.
Players can claim Escape Academy for free from January 16th to 23rd, 2025, following the availability of Turmoil. This marks the second time Escape Academy has been offered for free on the EGS; however, this time it will be available for a full week, unlike its previous brief appearance as a mystery game on January 1st, 2024. This is particularly convenient for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, as the game is slated to leave the service on January 15th.
The game, originally released in July 2022, challenges players to master escape rooms as students at the titular academy. Its strong critical reception ("Strong" rating on OpenCritic, 80 average score, 88% recommendation rate) is mirrored by overwhelmingly positive player reviews across Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms.
