The Epic Games Store's weekly free games are here, and this round offers a cherished indie hit alongside the latest Borderlands adventure.
This week's giveaway is a standout in Epic's ongoing promotion, which regularly provides a selection of complimentary titles to all store users. Starting now, PC players can permanently add Playdead's breakthrough title, Limbo, and Gearbox's Dungeons & Dragons-themed Borderlands spinoff, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, to their collections.
Both games are free to claim until next Thursday, June 5, at 8 a.m. PT / 11 a.m. ET, after which they will return to their regular prices. Even if you're not a frequent PC gamer, it's worth logging into your Epic Games Store account to secure these titles for your library.
Released in early 2022 for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is a stand-alone Borderlands tale. While the core series focuses on looting and shooting in twisted sci-fi landscapes, this spinoff transplants the chaotic action into a vibrant fantasy realm. It introduces fresh elements like new weapon categories and deep character customization to rejuvenate the formula. Backed by an all-star voice cast featuring Andy Samberg, Wanda Sykes, and Will Arnett, the game earned an 8/10 in our review as a worthy expansion of the Borderlands world.
Limbo, by contrast, is a minimalist masterpiece. Players guide a young boy through a stark, monochrome, and perilous world. It's a concise experience—HowLongToBeat estimates a playtime of just over three hours—yet its haunting atmosphere has captivated players for nearly 15 years. We awarded it a 9/10 in our original review.
These titles succeed last week's free offerings on the Epic Games Store, which included Deliver At All Costs, Gigapocalypse, and Sifu. Once they cycle out, a new set of free games will be revealed.
