Game of Thrones: Kingsroad announces closed beta test coming this month

Author : Matthew Apr 03,2025

Netmarble is set to launch the closed beta for their highly anticipated game, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, inspired by George R.R. Martin's iconic book series and the HBO show. The beta will commence on January 15th and run until January 22nd, exclusively in the US, Canada, and selected regions of Europe. Android users can now sign up for this exciting opportunity!

Unlike previous mobile adaptations that focused on strategy and high-level intrigue, Kingsroad offers a more immersive third-person action and adventure experience set in the world of Westeros. Players will assume the role of an heir to the lesser-known House Tyre, embarking on a journey filled with battles and prestige-building across the land.

The game's trailer hints at a Witcher-like experience, featuring third-person exploration and combat. Players can choose from three distinct classes: the Sellsword, Knight, and Assassin, each offering unique gameplay mechanics. While the visuals and gameplay look promising, the true test will come with the beta.

Game of Thrones: Kingsroad Closed Beta TrailerWinter is coming (well, it's already here, but you know what I mean). Registration for the closed beta is open until January 12th, so don't miss your chance to participate! Although Game of Thrones: Kingsroad appears impressive, it will undoubtedly face intense scrutiny from the dedicated fanbase still eager for a quality on-the-ground experience in the world of Westeros.

Key concerns for fans will likely revolve around monetization strategies and the game's long-term support and development. If Netmarble can successfully navigate these challenges, they have the potential to deliver the immersive Game of Thrones experience that fans have been longing for.
