The highly anticipated sequel to the beloved dungeon crawler *Hades*, known as *Hades II*, is on the horizon from Supergiant Games. With an early access version already captivating players since its release in 2024, let's dive into when we can expect the full game to launch and what the developers have hinted about the upcoming release.

*Hades II* has been available in early access for PC users since May 6, 2024, via Steam and the Epic Games Store. macOS users joined the fray on October 16, 2024, with a significant content update. The most recent update for early access players arrived on February 19, 2025. Console players, however, will have to wait for the full launch to dive into the action. The extended early access period allows Supergiant Games to gather valuable feedback, which will inform the final touches before the official release.

Considering the feedback from the February 2025 update, a full launch for *Hades II* could be anticipated as early as Q2 2025, spanning from April to June. While an April release seems unlikely due to the need for adequate time to analyze and incorporate feedback, a May 2025 launch appears more feasible. This would coincide with the one-year anniversary of the early access launch, giving the developers ample time to refine the game based on player input.

Even in its early access phase, *Hades II* is already demonstrating its potential as a worthy successor to the original, meeting the high expectations set by its predecessor. With the game slated for a 2025 release, the focus now is on the amount of development and polish Supergiant Games plans to implement. An official announcement regarding the release date feels imminent, and fans eagerly await the final word.

Development on *Hades II* kicked off in early 2021, with much of the original game's production team and voice cast returning for the sequel. Throughout the development process, Supergiant Games has kept a low profile on the full release date, preferring to let players experience the game's evolution through early access. The last significant press interaction occurred around the technical test and initial early access launch in April and May 2024, after which the team refocused on development rather than promotion.

In interviews with outlets like Game Informer in May 2024, Supergiant Games expressed their intent to preserve the core elements that made the first game a success while introducing new characters and features, such as the protagonist Melinoë, to keep the gameplay fresh and exciting. As fans eagerly await the full release of *Hades II*, they look forward to returning to the exhilarating dungeon-crawling that captivated so many in the original game.
