HandyGames Announces Way of the Hunter: Wild America CBT for Mobile

Way of the Hunter: Wild America is coming to mobile devices, bringing its expansive open-world hunting experience to smartphones and tablets. PC players will recognize the acclaimed gameplay, originally released in August 2022 by Nine Rocks Games and published by THQ Nordic and HandyGames.

Will the Mobile Version Be Complete?

While some graphical adjustments are expected given the limitations of mobile hardware compared to PCs, the core gameplay and all DLC will be included post-launch. Currently in beta, THQ Nordic and HandyGames plan a full mobile release soon. A closed beta test sign-up is available via a form on their official X (formerly Twitter) account.

A Top-Tier Hunting Simulator?

Way of the Hunter challenges players with realistic hunting mechanics, requiring patience and strategic thinking. Animals behave naturally within vast, open-world environments inspired by the USA and Europe, offering a 55-square-mile hunting ground.

The game features a wide selection of authentic hunting weapons, from rifles to bows, and incorporates detailed tracking elements, including blood splatter analysis and animal sign interpretation. See a glimpse of the mobile gameplay below:

The game's ecosystem reacts dynamically to player actions; indiscriminate shooting has consequences. Overhunting in one area will cause animals to relocate.

Way of the Hunter includes an in-game economy where harvested meat can be sold to purchase better equipment, hunting licenses, and taxidermy trophies for your lodge. Both campaign and co-op modes are featured, and the mobile version will offer full controller support.
