As a Meta-Human, one of the few survivors, you find yourself in the vast 256-square-kilometer continent of Nalcott (Nekot), navigating through diverse and dangerous landscapes. From frozen tundras and lava-spewing volcanoes to treacherous swamps and deceptive desert oases, your survival hinges on your ability to farm, hunt, or engage in combat.
The game pits you against zombies—corrupted humans—and eerie dimensional bosses altered by Stardust. Be wary, as Stardust can contaminate your food and water sources, affecting your health and sanity. Drink from the wrong river, and you might see your max HP and sanity plummet.

The crafting system in Once Human is robust, allowing players to collect around 100 gun blueprints across seven categories, along with various accessories, perks, and upgrades. This level of customization ensures that you can tailor your arsenal to your playstyle.
