If you're passionate about Japanese music, you're likely familiar with the iconic HYDE. Known for his performances at Madison Square Garden and selling over 40 million records, HYDE now stars in a thrilling new endless runner game, Hyde Run, which has just launched globally. Initially released in Japan, the game is now accessible to players worldwide, allowing fans to immerse themselves in HYDE's musical journey through a game filled with references to his illustrious career.
Move, Jump or Slide in Hyde Run
Hyde Run offers a unique parkour experience, blending a concert stage with a futuristic vision of Tokyo. As HYDE, you'll navigate a high-speed chase across Neo Tokyo, skillfully dodging obstacles, wall-running past dynamic billboards, and collecting musical notes. The game's atmosphere is charged with a neon-and-noise aesthetic, infused with the energy of guitar solos and fan service, setting it apart from typical endless runners.
Throughout your runs, you can collect various power-ups, including magnets that draw notes to you and barriers that shield you from damage. Before each run, you have the option to use items like Note Gain to increase your note collection or a Barrier to avoid tripping on obstacles. Additionally, by gathering crystals, you can unlock exclusive outfits and room items reflecting HYDE's career milestones, as well as voice clips from HYDE himself by unlocking the Microphone Stand.
There’s More Stuff in the Game to Do
Hyde Run also allows you to personalize HYDE's room with memorabilia spanning 20 years of his career, from tour gear to more obscure references. Hidden items unlock additional messages and voice notes from HYDE, enriching the experience. Currently, there's a range of limited-time content available until June 10th, 2025. This includes the THE LAST ROCKSTARS Costume Set, featuring HYDE's iconic look from the music video, complete with matching ROCK Furniture such as leopard prints, vintage trunks, and stage spotlights.
For a more relaxed vibe, the Bat Jinbei Costume Set offers a summer-festival feel, while the Japanese-style furniture set adds a traditional touch with elements like bamboo, bonboris, and a wind chime styled after HYDE's Edyh character.
