Introducing Mr. Fantastic: Dominate Marvel Rivals with Strategy

Marvel Rivals: Mastering Mister Fantastic, the Stretchy Strategist

Marvel Rivals delivers a dynamic hero-shooter experience, boasting diverse gameplay and stunning visuals. The game's ongoing development introduces new characters, expanding strategic possibilities. Season 1 introduces iconic Fantastic Four heroes, including the versatile Mister Fantastic.

Mister Fantastic is classified as a duelist, excelling in mobility and damage output. His unique ability to grapple and pull himself towards allies or enemies is central to his gameplay. His impact on the meta remains to be seen, but his potential is undeniable.

Mister Fantastic's Primary Attack

Mister Fantastic's primary attack, "Stretch Punch," is a three-hit combo. The first two strikes utilize a single fist, while the final strike employs both. Its versatility lies in its area-of-effect damage; the stretched arm continues to inflict damage on all enemies it contacts during its trajectory, enabling multiple AoE attacks. This contrasts with more focused attacks like Storm's Wind Blade.

Mister Fantastic's Abilities

Mister Fantastic possesses several abilities, best explored in the training room. Each ability contributes to his "Elasticity" meter, ultimately triggering a powerful damage boost passive. His base health is 350, supplemented by significant shield generation, enhancing his survivability. His Elasticity meter (visible near the crosshair) increases by 5 per basic attack, reaching 100 for maximum passive effect. He has a 3-star difficulty rating, challenging beginners but ultimately accessible to all players.

Reflexive Rubber

  • Active Ability
  • 12-second cooldown

Mister Fantastic transforms into a rectangular shape, absorbing incoming damage. Upon expiration, he unleashes the stored damage in the direction of the player's reticle.

Flexible Elongation

  • Active Ability
  • 3-second cooldown
  • Generates 30 Elasticity

This ability provides a shield, boosting health from 350 to 425. He pulls himself towards the target, dealing damage to enemies or granting a shield to allies, offering both offensive and defensive utility. It has two charges.

Distended Grip

  • Active Ability
  • 6-second cooldown
  • Generates 30 Elasticity

Mister Fantastic stretches to grapple a target, offering three options: Dash (pulls him to the target), Impact (pulls the grappled enemy towards him, dealing damage), and a secondary grapple/slam on a nearby enemy, damaging both.

Wedded Harmony

  • Team-Up Ability (requires Invisible Woman)
  • 20-second duration

Heals Mister Fantastic for any lost health (no shield granted). This synergizes well with Invisible Woman's strategist abilities.

Elastic Strength

  • Passive Ability

Building Elasticity through ability usage increases damage output. At maximum Elasticity, Mister Fantastic undergoes a Hulk-like transformation, significantly boosting damage and shield generation. The shield decays after the transformation ends. Damage output is crucial to maintain the inflated state.

Brainiac Bounce

  • Ultimate Ability

Mister Fantastic leaps and crashes down, dealing AoE damage in a marked area, then bouncing to repeat the attack multiple times. Effective against clustered enemies.

Tips for Playing Mister Fantastic

Mister Fantastic's high survivability stems from his damage mitigation and shield generation.

Flexible Reflection

Combining Flexible Elongation and Reflexive Rubber provides both offensive and defensive capabilities, shielding both the player and an ally before unleashing stored damage.

Rushing Reflexive Rubber

Using Reflexive Rubber strategically, even without needing to charge the passive, maximizes the duration of his powerful inflated state, boosting both objective control and team damage. His shields stack, potentially reaching a massive 950 health pool.
