Author : Daniel May 15,2025

The demon-hunting saga is set to electrify screens as Netflix brings the beloved video game series, Devil May Cry, to life with an anime adaptation. Fans were treated to an exciting glimpse of what's to come with a freshly released trailer. Adding to the anticipation is the posthumous involvement of the legendary voice actor, Kevin Conroy, who lends his voice to the new character VP Baines in this thrilling adaptation.

Kevin Conroy, renowned for his iconic portrayal of Bruce Wayne and Batman in numerous animated films and TV series, brings his remarkable talent to Devil May Cry. Fans can hear his voice at the beginning of the sneak peek, showcasing his final recorded performance. Conroy, who passed away in November 2022 at the age of 66, left an indelible mark with his work, including his acclaimed posthumous performance in Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part 3, released in July 2024. Joining Conroy in the cast are Scout Taylor-Compton as Mary, Hoon Lee as White Rabbit, Chris Coppola as Enzo, and Johnny Yong Bosch, who voices the protagonist, Dante.

According to Netflix's official synopsis, the series delves into a gripping narrative where sinister forces are working to open a portal between the human and demon realms. At the center of this turmoil is Dante, an orphaned demon-hunter-for-hire, oblivious to the fact that the fate of both worlds rests on his shoulders.

The series is helmed by producer Adi Shankar, who serves as the showrunner. Shankar's notable previous works include executive producing the 2012 Judge Dredd reboot film Dredd, the Brad Pitt-starring Killing Them Softly from the same year, and the 2014 Ryan Reynolds film The Voices. Shankar is also attached to executive produce an adaptation of Assassin’s Creed, though its development has been stalled since its announcement in 2017.

The animation for Devil May Cry is being crafted by Studio Mir, a respected South Korean studio celebrated for their work on acclaimed series such as The Legend of Korra and X-Men ‘97. Fans can mark their calendars for the series' premiere on Netflix, set for April 3, 2025.
