Kingdomino, the acclaimed tabletop game, has made its way to mobile devices with a polished digital adaptation now available on Android and other platforms. Originally launched in 2017, the game earned widespread recognition, including the prestigious Spiel des Jahres (Game of the Year) award, and has now been faithfully translated into a digital experience.
Developed by Meeple Corp in collaboration with Blue Orange Games and designer Bruno Cathala, the mobile version preserves the essence of the original. Players build their kingdoms by connecting domino-style tiles featuring terrains like forests, lakes, and fields, aiming to create the most valuable realm.
Kingdomino: A Strategic Tile-Laying Challenge
The objective is simple yet engaging—construct the highest-scoring kingdom on a 5×5 or 7×7 grid. Each tile displays two terrain types, and some include crowns that multiply your points when placed within connected regions. You begin with a single castle, then strategically select and place tiles so that matching terrains link together.
A clever drafting mechanic adds depth: choosing a higher-value tile in one round means picking later in the next, creating a tactical trade-off between immediate gain and future positioning. Success comes from balancing tile selection and optimal placement to maximize territory size and crown bonuses.
The game supports up to four players in classic turn-based matches. As you play, you’ll unlock cosmetic enhancements such as themed castles, custom meeples, unique icons, and decorative frames—adding a personal touch to your kingdom.
Faithful Visual Style and Immersive Design
Kingdomino’s digital version retains the original’s charming, hand-drawn aesthetic. Vibrant environments come to life with smooth 3D animations and dynamic tile effects, enhancing the tactile feel of the physical game while staying true to its artistic roots.
Variety of Play Modes and Features
Whether you're playing solo or with others, Kingdomino offers multiple ways to enjoy the experience:
