Marvel Rivals Season 1 Mid-Season Update: No Rank Reset!

A planned mid-season rank reset in Marvel Rivals Season 1 has been cancelled following significant player feedback. Initially, NetEase Games announced a reset coinciding with the February 21, 2025 update, which included the addition of The Thing and Human Torch. However, due to overwhelmingly negative community response, the decision was reversed.

The Marvel Rivals team stated in a blog post that the pressure of a mid-season reset negatively impacted the competitive experience. Instead of a reset, players will retain their current rank and score. To earn new rewards, including a Gold rank costume and Crests of Honor, players only need to complete 10 competitive matches and meet specific conditions by the season's end.

This decision showcases NetEase's responsiveness to player concerns and provides high-ranking players with an extended period to compete at the top level.

Season 1 Mid-Season Update Details:

Beyond the cancellation of the rank reset, the mid-season update introduces The Thing and Human Torch as playable characters. While specific character balance adjustments (buffs and nerfs) remain unannounced, they are expected to significantly impact the game's meta.

Marvel Rivals is currently available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
