Marvel Rivals Announces Balancing Changes in Season 1

Marvel Rivals Season 1: Dracula, Fantastic Four, and Balance Adjustments

NetEase Games has unveiled a comprehensive developer update for Marvel Rivals' Season 1: Eternal Night Falls, launching January 10th at 1 AM PST. This season introduces significant changes, including a new villain, roster additions, map expansions, a fresh game mode, and substantial balance adjustments.

Key Features of Season 1:

  • Dracula as the Main Villain: Season 1 will pit players against the iconic vampire, Dracula.
  • The Fantastic Four Join the Fray: The entire Fantastic Four – Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman initially, followed by Human Torch and The Thing six to seven weeks later – will be added to the playable roster.
  • New Maps and Game Mode: Three new maps and a new game mode, "Doom Match," will enhance gameplay variety.
  • Battle Pass with 10 Skins: A battle pass costing 990 Lattice (approximately $10) offers 10 skins and rewards players with 600 Lattice and 600 Units upon completion.

Balance Changes:

The update details significant balance adjustments:

  • Nerfs: Hela and Hawkeye, deemed overpowered in Season 0, will receive nerfs.
  • Buffs: Mobility-focused Vanguards, such as Captain America and Venom, will receive buffs to improve their effectiveness. Wolverine, Storm, and Cloak and Dagger will also receive buffs to encourage diverse team strategies.
  • Jeff the Land Shark Adjustments: Changes are planned for Jeff the Land Shark to better align his early warning indicators with his ultimate ability's hitbox. While his ultimate's power level is a concern for some players, no major changes to it have been announced.

Seasonal Bonus Adjustments:

While NetEase Games hasn't commented on specific changes to the Seasonal Bonus feature, it's anticipated that some heroes will see their bonuses adjusted or removed.

Season 1 promises a wealth of new content and significant balance improvements, generating considerable excitement among players.
