Ninja Gaiden Dev Team Ninja Prepares 30th Anniversary Celebration

Team Ninja's 30th Anniversary: Big Plans on the Horizon

Team Ninja, the renowned Koei Tecmo subsidiary, has hinted at significant projects to commemorate its 30th anniversary in 2025. Famous for its acclaimed Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive franchises, the studio has also expanded its portfolio to include successful soulslike RPGs like the Nioh series and collaborations with Square Enix (Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty). The recent release of Rise of the Ronin further solidified their position in the action RPG genre.

While details remain scarce, Fumihiko Yasuda of Team Ninja has indicated a desire to launch titles befitting this milestone anniversary. While he refrained from specifics, speculation centers on potential new entries in the Ninja Gaiden or Dead or Alive series. The statement, "In 2025, Team Ninja will celebrate its 30th anniversary, and we hope to announce and release titles fitting for the occasion," has fueled anticipation among fans.

Potential 2025 Releases:

One confirmed project is Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, a side-scrolling title announced at The Game Awards 2024. This game aims to recapture the classic 8-bit era's challenging gameplay while incorporating modern elements. This follows the divisive 2014 release, Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z.

The Dead or Alive franchise, last updated with Dead or Alive 6 in 2019, has seen only spin-offs since then. Many fans are hopeful for a new mainline entry to celebrate the anniversary. The Nioh series is another strong contender for a potential anniversary release, given its popularity. The coming year promises exciting developments from Team Ninja.
