The much-anticipated The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered breathes new life into one of Bethesda's seminal titles, enhancing visuals, gameplay mechanics, and more. Yet, the team at Virtuos has made a point to preserve one of the original game's most cherished quirks: the iconic voice line from Master Speechcraft trainer Tandilwe.
Veteran fans of the Elder Scrolls series will fondly remember Tandilwe, the High Elf found in the Temple of the One within the Imperial City. When Oblivion first hit the shelves for PC and Xbox 360 over 19 years ago, it became evident that Tandilwe's speech training needed some work. Her voice line, famously recorded by actress Linda Kenyon, included what many assumed was a mistakenly left-in audio of her attempting the line again.

As players embarked on their journey through a revitalized Cyrodiil yesterday, many were eager to discover how true the remaster stayed to its roots. While numerous environments, character models, and items have been revamped, fans are delighted to find that many of the original game's quirks, including Tandilwe's hilarious blooper, have been preserved. The voice line remains as it was nearly two decades ago, complete with its amusing lack of subtitles.

In a 2019 interview with YouTube channel Jake 'The Voice' Parr, Kenyon learned of her blooper's fame and insisted, "It wasn't my fault!"
As thousands of players dive into Oblivion Remastered, debates swirl around whether the re-release leans more towards a remake than a remaster. Yet, many are simply thrilled to see the original game's charm and quirks, lovingly preserved by Bethesda and Virtuos, remain a significant part of the experience. This dedication to maintaining the game's original feel has been well-received by both newcomers and long-time fans.
