Oceanhorn: Chronos Dungeon Announced as Sequel to Oceanhorn 2

FDG Entertainment and Cornfox & Bros. have recently unveiled their latest addition to the Oceanhorn series: Oceanhorn: Chronos Dungeon. Set 200 years after the events of Oceanhorn 2: Knights of the Lost Realm, this new game promises to bring a fresh twist to the franchise. Scheduled for release on Android, iOS, and PC via Steam in Q2 2025, fans are eagerly anticipating what’s in store.

What’s the Story in New Game Oceanhorn: Chronos Dungeon?

In Oceanhorn: Chronos Dungeon, the adventure shifts from sailing the seas to exploring the perilous depths of an underground labyrinth. Players will embark on a dungeon crawler experience with a nostalgic retro feel.

The setting is the world of Gaia, which has fallen into disarray. The once-mighty Kingdom of Arcadia has fragmented into scattered islands, and the legendary White City is now just a distant memory. Amidst this backdrop, four determined adventurers set their sights on the mysterious Chronos Dungeon, rumored to house the powerful Paradigm Hourglass. This artefact holds the potential to alter history itself. If the heroes can navigate the dangers within, they may have the chance to restore Gaia to its former glory.

The developers have released an announcement trailer for Oceanhorn: Chronos Dungeon, which you can view below.

What About the Features?

Oceanhorn: Chronos Dungeon embraces a classic dungeon crawler format with a distinct 16-bit arcade aesthetic. Designed for couch co-op, the game allows up to four players to join forces for cooperative gameplay.

For solo adventurers, the game offers flexibility. Players can control all four heroes simultaneously or switch between them as needed. The game's challenges are enhanced by heroes starting with different stats each time, influenced by their zodiac signs, ensuring varied and unique playthroughs. The four playable characters include the Knight, Huntress, Grandmaster, and Mage.

Complementing the nostalgic 16-bit and pixel art visuals, the game features a chiptune-inspired soundtrack and a range of old-school arcade elements. For those eager to learn more, the Steam page for Oceanhorn: Chronos Dungeon is now live, providing further details on this exciting new release from FDG Entertainment.
