PlayStation State of Play February 2025: Everything Announced

The latest State of Play has brought an exhilarating glimpse into the future of gaming on the PS5, showcasing a plethora of new titles and updates that have fans buzzing with excitement. From the highly anticipated Saros by Housemarque to the long-awaited Borderlands 4, the event was packed with thrilling announcements.

Among the standout reveals was Saros, the next venture from Housemarque following the success of Returnal. Set to launch on PS5 in 2026, Saros transports players to the planet Carcosa, where they'll embody Arjun Devraj, a Soltari Enforcer on a quest for answers amidst an ominous eclipse. The game promises permanent progression systems and a dynamic world that evolves with each player's death, offering new challenges and upgrades.

Another major highlight was the confirmation of the release date for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, set for August 28, 2025. Alongside a fresh gameplay trailer, Konami teased an Ape Escape collaboration and hinted at more crossovers to come.

Borderlands 4 also made waves with its confirmed release date of September 23, 2025. Gearbox unveiled a new gameplay trailer and announced a dedicated Borderlands 4-themed State of Play for later this spring, further stoking fans' anticipation.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword, although slated for a 2026 release, offered a tantalizing glimpse of its new protagonist, the legendary swordsman Miyamoto Musashi, through an engaging gameplay trailer.

The event also introduced Tides of Annihilation, a stunning single-player action-adventure game set in a modern London overrun by otherworldly forces. Players will step into the shoes of Gwendolyn, aided by the Knights of the Round Table, to battle skyscraper-sized bosses.

Days Gone Remastered is set to return players to its freaker-filled world on April 25, 2025, with enhanced features like VRR, PS5 Pro support, permadeath, speedrun modes, and a new Horde Assault mode. Owners of the PS4 version can upgrade for just $10.

Sony also unveiled the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog for February 2025, featuring titles like Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and TopSpin 2K25, alongside indie gems like Blue Prince and Abiotic Factor.

Leslie Benzies' MindsEye, set in the futuristic city of Redrock, received a gameplay trailer and a Summer 2025 release window. Players will follow Jacob Diaz, a former soldier haunted by his past and a mysterious neural implant.

Warriors: Abyss, a roguelite spin-off of Dynasty Warriors, surprised fans with its immediate release on both PS5 and PS4, offering over 100 unique characters and billions of gameplay combinations.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds showcased new gameplay, highlighting its unique portal system that transports racers across different worlds, set to launch on multiple platforms.

Stellar Blade announced a crossover with Goddess of Victory: Nikke, featuring themed content and a PC port release window for June 2025.

Lies of P: Overture, a prequel DLC expansion, will delve into the hidden stories of Krat and is slated for a summer release.

WWE 2K25 introduced The Island, a social multiplayer wrestling hub where players can explore, compete, and develop storylines.

Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, a new entry in the classic franchise, is set to launch on August 29, 2025, for PS5 and PS4, promising a quest for vengeance with Joe Musashi.

Metal Eden, an adrenaline-pumping sci-fi FPS, will hit PS5 on May 6, 2025, featuring a unique Core Ripping mechanic.

Lost Soul Aside, a one-person dream turned sprawling adventure, confirmed its release date for May 30, 2025, on PS5 and PC.

Monster Hunter Wilds will receive a free title update in the spring, adding Mizutsune and more.

Split Fiction unveiled a new story trailer ahead of its March 6, 2025, release.

Supermassive Games' Directive 8020, a sci-fi horror game, is set to scare PS5 owners on October 2, 2025, aboard the Cassiopeia.

The next PixelJunk series, Dreams of Another, will launch on PS5 and PS VR2 in 2025, exploring an ethereal dreamscape.

Darwin's Paradox, an action-adventure platformer, aims to immerse players in the life of an octopus, with a release planned for PS5.

The Midnight Walk, a stop-motion first-person action-adventure game, will launch on PS5 and PS VR2 on May 8, 2025.

Finally, Five Nights at Freddy's: Secret of the Mimic will bring players back to the horror franchise, facing off against a shape-shifting foe.
