Retro Pixel Magic: Disney's Upcoming RPG Emerges

Author : Finn Jan 25,2025

GungHo Entertainment, creators of the crossover card battler Teppen, is developing a retro-style RPG in collaboration with Disney. This exciting new title, Disney Pixel RPG, promises a vast roster of pixel-art Disney characters.

The game, launching later this year, will feature iconic Disney characters recruitable for battles across multiple worlds. Gameplay will blend battle, action, and rhythm elements. Players can create and customize their own avatars to fight alongside their favorite Disney heroes. The combat system appears to be primarily auto-battler, with opportunities for direct player control. The storyline centers around combating mysterious programs plaguing the pixelated Disney worlds.

A Retro Revival

This isn't GungHo's first foray into large-franchise crossovers. Given Disney's extensive library, this game offers an unprecedented opportunity for character inclusion. GungHo's experience managing expansive casts makes them well-suited to this ambitious project.

Pre-registration for Disney Pixel RPG is open on iOS and Android. Visit the official website for additional previews, screenshots, and further details.
