Upcoming Updates for Marvel Rivals

New Team-Up Skills and Changes

Marvel Rivals Season 2 Brings More Team-Up Skills and Skins

Marvel Rivals Game Director Guangyun Chen has announced significant changes to team-up skills for Season 2. In a recent interview with PC Gamer on March 14, Chen shared insights into the game's next major update.

He stated, "Starting from Season 2, we will introduce new Team-Up skills with the seasonal update and adjust some existing ones. Together with seasonal overall balance adjustments, this will create a new combat environment and experience for the season."

Currently, the game features 17 team-up skills, including Ragnarok Rebirth for Hela with either Loki or Thor, Lunar Force for Cloak & Dagger and Moon Knight, and Allied Agents for Hawkeye and Black Widow. With the game's expanding roster, it will be fascinating to see how NetEase manages these changes to maintain balance among the heroes.

Balancing Heroes

Chen also discussed the approach to balancing heroes as Marvel Rivals continues to grow its character lineup. He explained, "First, we will closely monitor key metrics for heroes across different modes. For example, in Quick Match and Competitive Modes, we will analyze data such as win rates, pick rates, damage, healing, damage taken, and final blows for heroes at various ranks and in different tournaments. This data serves as the foundation for our balancing efforts."

He added, "At the same time, we will analyze the composition of hero lineups and their win rates within the aforementioned modes, which will be crucial references for our overall balancing direction. Finally, we will pay close attention to the player community as one of the bases for our balancing decisions."

In a previous interview with Metro in January, Chen mentioned that the game would introduce a new hero every half-season. With each season lasting approximately three months, Marvel Rivals is set to add eight new heroes annually. As the roster expands, the challenge of balancing the game becomes increasingly complex.

Chen also confirmed that the team is actively working on future updates, stating, "The content for Season 2 is ready and set to go. The designs for Seasons 3 and 4 have also been completed and are currently under intensive development! Overall, everything is progressing smoothly." This aligns with NetEase's commitment to supporting Marvel Rivals for 10 years and beyond, ensuring fans can look forward to continuous updates and enhancements.

Spider-Punk 2099 and Steam Power Iron Man Coming on March 20

NetEase announced via Marvel Rivals' official Twitter (X) account on March 18 that new skins for Spider-Man and Iron Man will be available starting March 20 at 7 PM PDT / 10 PM EDT / March 21 at 2:00 AM UTC. Spider-Man's new look, dubbed "Spider-Punk 2099," features a futuristic digital mask with a spiked mohawk and an electric guitar. Meanwhile, Iron Man's "Steam Power" skin embraces a steampunk aesthetic, complete with large exhaust pipes and a burning furnace on his torso.

These skins, which were popular during the game's closed beta, have been eagerly anticipated by fans. Following the release of Loki's Presidential attire from the beta, these new skins add to the excitement. Although the release date has been announced, the prices for these skins have not yet been disclosed.

As Marvel Rivals wraps up Season 1, NetEase is preparing for more updates and changes in Season 2. The game is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Stay updated with the latest news on Marvel Rivals by checking out our article below!
