Torchlight: Infinite's highly anticipated Season 8: Sandlord is set to launch on April 17th, promising an array of exciting new content and gameplay mechanics. This season introduces the innovative Cloud Oasis, where players can engage in economic gameplay by trading resources, assigning workers, and managing production lines to build their own aerial empire.
One of the standout features of Season 8 is the revamped character Thea, who now comes with a new trait called Blasphemer. This trait replaces her divine powers with a curse known as Desecration, which starts off weak but scales significantly. It increases Erosion damage based on her remaining blessing power, offering players the chance to create builds that enhance Area of Effect (AoE) explosions or Health Point (HP) scaling effects. This makes Thea an excellent choice for players who enjoy damage-over-time mechanics and intricate synergy setups.
Endgame content has also received a major overhaul with the complete rework of Deep Space. This update includes five new stages, expanded maps, and more challenging enemies. Players can now adjust the risk and reward balance using a new system called Probes. Each Probe increases the challenge level but also the potential for better loot, including Compass chests obtained through the Compass Probe.
The update also introduces a Blending System for belt crafting, allowing players to fuse Hero Traits, Talent nodes, and unique affixes into a single item slot, providing deeper build customization options. Additionally, a new boss, Night Slayer – The Wilting Plume, has been added to both the Plane Watcher and the 20th floor of Supreme Showdown, offering fresh challenges for seasoned players.
To celebrate the launch of Season 8, Torchlight: Infinite is hosting the Sands of Fortune anniversary event from April 17th to May 1st. Players can complete tasks, earn Gold Rush Attempts, and have a chance to win from a prize pool worth $250,000.
