New Official Reveal Trailer

The Silent Hill Transmission on March 13, 2025, provided fans with fresh insights into Silent Hill f, including a captivating new trailer. Unlike previous entries set in a fictional American town, Silent Hill f transports players to 1960s Japan.

The game's story follows Shimizu Hinako, an ordinary teenager whose life takes a dark turn when her town is engulfed in fog and undergoes terrifying transformations. Hinako must navigate this unrecognizable environment, solve puzzles, battle bizarre enemies, and make critical decisions to survive. The narrative centers on a "beautiful yet terrifying choice" that Hinako must confront.

Silent Hill f unfolds in the fictional Japanese town of Ebisugaoka, inspired by Kanayama in Gero, Gifu Prefecture. The developers meticulously recreated the town, capturing its intricate alleyways and daily life sounds, while integrating historical references to authentically represent the 1960s setting.

Find the Beauty in Terror

Silent Hill f Brings Signature Horror to Japan

Silent Hill series producer Motoi Okamoto emphasized that the core concept of Silent Hill f is to "find the beauty in terror." While maintaining the series' signature psychological horror, the team embraced the challenge of exploring Japanese settings and themes.

Okamoto explained, "Japanese horror often intertwines beauty with terror. When something becomes overwhelmingly beautiful and perfect, it can become deeply unsettling. Players will experience this through the eyes of a young girl facing a beautiful yet terrifying decision."

Silent Hill f Is A Completely Independent Story

Silent Hill f Brings Signature Horror to Japan

Okamoto assured that Silent Hill f offers a standalone story, welcoming new players while delighting long-time fans with subtle easter eggs. Fans of the game's writer, Ryukishi07, known for his psychological Japanese horror visual novels, will find the narrative particularly engaging.

As a dedicated fan of the franchise, Ryukishi07 has played all the Silent Hill games. He views Silent Hill f as both a return to the series' roots and a fresh challenge. One significant hurdle was creating a Silent Hill game outside the series' traditional setting.

Ryukishi07 confidently stated, "From a creator’s perspective, we believe we've crafted a true Silent Hill experience. We're eager to see how long-time fans react and whether they agree."

Silent Hill f is now available for wishlisting on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. While no specific release date has been announced, stay updated with the latest news by clicking on our article below!
