Sony's India Hero Project Unveils Lokko for Mobile, PC, and PS5

Author : Claire Jun 13,2025

Lokko is a vibrant new title from Indian developer Appy Monkeys, born from the collaboration with Sony’s India Hero Project. This initiative aims to empower local developers and elevate India's growing presence in the global gaming scene. Lokko stands as a testament to that mission—a dynamic 3D platformer offering deep customization, creative tools, and a unique narrative set in a world where pizza delivery becomes a high-stakes adventure against a corporate food monopoly.

One of the standout features of Lokko is its seamless cross-play functionality across mobile, PC, and PS5. Regardless of your preferred platform, you can carry your progress and play alongside friends without limitations. Additionally, Lokko supports DualShock features on all platforms, enhancing immersion with adaptive triggers and haptic feedback, making every jump, dash, and pizza toss feel more engaging.

At first glance, Lokko blends familiar elements from successful modern games—customizable avatars, user-generated content, and a charming low-poly art style reminiscent of titles like Roblox. However, backed by the power of PlayStation and built for multiplatform accessibility, Lokko has the potential to carve its own niche in the crowded indie space.

From what we’ve seen so far, gameplay focuses on smooth movement, level creation, and a lighthearted yet purposeful storyline. While it may not be reinventing the genre, it delivers a polished and enjoyable experience that highlights the talent emerging from India’s development community.

Though an exact release date is still under wraps—other than a vague “sometime this year”—there’s plenty to look forward to both in Lokko and the broader India Hero Project. In the meantime, if you're craving another well-crafted cross-platform indie gem, don’t miss out on Dredge, the eerie fishing simulator from Black Salt Games, now available on multiple platforms.
