Star Wars: Hunters Announces Shutdown Even Before Turning One!

Star Wars: Hunters has announced its shutdown even before completing a full year, yet it will still celebrate its one-year anniversary before the final curtain call. The question arises: is it worth celebrating the anniversary of a game on its way out? While the game may be fading, marking milestones can still be meaningful for dedicated fans and the development team who poured their hearts into the project.

When Is the Star Wars: Hunters Shutdown?

The servers for Star Wars: Hunters are set to go offline on October 1st, 2025, marking the end of the game's journey after just nine months since its launch. Players have been given a grace period to wrap up Season 5, which concludes on April 15th.

Zynga, the game's developer and publisher, is rolling out one last content update on April 15th. This update will introduce a new Support Hunter, Tuya, available for free. On the same day, in-game purchases will be disabled, urging players to make the most of their remaining time.

Ranked Mode will remain active until the servers shut down, and past events from the season will be rerun to give players more chances to enjoy the game. If you have unspent Crystals, now is the time to use them, as there will be no refunds once the game closes.

It Isn’t Shocking

The shutdown of Star Wars: Hunters, while unfortunate, does not come as a surprise. The game faced numerous challenges from the outset. Announced in 2020, it was delayed several times, with beta testing limited to the SEA and ANZAC regions. This delayed launch, coupled with the absence of major console support and a lukewarm reception, set the stage for its eventual closure.

In terms of design, the game missed an opportunity to leverage the rich tapestry of Star Wars lore. Instead of featuring beloved iconic characters, it opted for generic original characters, which may have contributed to its lackluster performance.

If you've uninstalled the game but are considering one final adventure, Star Wars: Hunters remains available for download on the Google Play Store until the shutdown date.
