Ultimate Beginner's Guide to Building Defense

Author : Aurora May 23,2025

*Build Defense* on *Roblox* combines the thrill of building with the challenge of survival against various threats like monster attacks, tornados, bombs, and aliens. While it might initially seem reminiscent of *Minecraft*, it's actually closer to the original *Fortnite* in gameplay. Whether it draws from one game or another, *Build Defense* is both enjoyable and complex, which is why we've created this Beginner’s Guide to help you navigate and excel in the game.

Build Defense Beginner’s Guide

------------------------------

Below, we outline essential tips that we wished we knew when starting out. Implementing these strategies significantly enhanced our enjoyment and accelerated our progress in the game.

The object of the game is to survive…

When you begin in your world on your designated plot, you might assume the goal is to protect your plot. That's not quite it! **The primary objective is to survive, or simply put, not die.** The game will present you with various hazards, and your task is to navigate these successfully. Ideally, you'll do this by constructing a defensive structure on your plot, but you can also evade threats by moving around the world until the danger passes (a strategy we've successfully used). **Each survival earns you a “Win” and some in-game currency, which is key to progressing in the game.** Keep an eye on screen messages and focus on staying alive.

… dying is completely normal

**Don’t worry if you die.** It's a common occurrence in *Build Defense*, and the repercussions are minimal. Upon death, you'll respawn instantly, lose your items, and fail the current wave of enemies, but these setbacks are manageable. **You can repurchase your lost items, and your structures remain intact.** New attack waves come every two minutes, offering another chance to succeed. Essentially, **the only real cost is a few minutes of your time**, which isn't much at all.

Build high, not low

We initially thought that surrounding our plot with a wall would suffice, but this approach was flawed as it left openings for monsters to enter. A more effective strategy is to **construct a tall set of stairs leading to a high platform.** When night falls, retreat to this platform. Monsters attempting to climb will often fall, and those who reach the top can be easily dealt with using **turrets.** This setup is highly effective for surviving most nights.

Don’t just build, explore!

Beyond your plot, the island offers numerous activities. You can visit other players, trade ores, and **undertake quests.** Most quests require a certain number of Wins to unlock, but some, like the **Gingerbread’s House quest**, are immediately accessible. Completing these quests can unlock new building parts, enhancing your gameplay experience.

The “Shop” isn’t just for premium items

As you advance, regularly visit the Shop. **Most items are available for purchase with in-game currency.** Accumulating Wins is necessary before shopping, so play the game for a while before diving into the store. Also, don't forget to join the Swiftplay Roblox group and to like, favorite, and follow the game for a free gift.

When you’re ready, move to the next area

Once you've earned 190 Wins, you can progress to the next area, where you'll face new challenges, quests, and building opportunities.

**That’s the essence of *Build Defense*. Enjoy surviving and building, and don't forget to check out our *Build Defense* codes for some cool in-game freebies.**
