- Free Fire set to feature at the Esports World Cup 2025 from July 16 to 20
- 18 top squads will compete for glory across intense stages
- A $10,000 MVP bonus will reward the tournament’s standout player
Garena’s blockbuster mobile battle royale, Free Fire, is once again taking center stage on the global esports scene with a massive $1 million prize pool at the Esports World Cup 2025 in Riyadh. Returning as part of a multi-year partnership with the EWC, the game is confirmed for another major appearance in 2026, solidifying its place in the international competitive arena.
This summer, 18 elite Free Fire teams from around the world will battle for supremacy. The event kicks off from July 16th to 20th, starting with the Group Stage—divided into three groups of six squads. The top 12 teams will advance to the high-pressure Point-Rush stage, with the final showdown determined in the Grand Final using the match point format to crown the champion.
Adding extra excitement, a $10,000 bonus will be awarded to the tournament’s Most Valuable Player, recognizing the most impactful individual performance across all stages.
Fans still buzzing from last year’s action will be thrilled to see Team Falcons return. After a dramatic 2024 campaign, they made history as the first Free Fire champions at the Esports World Cup. Despite a rocky start in the Point-Rush phase, they surged in the finals with two clutch Booyahs, claiming the title and earning a spot at the World Series in Rio.
Qualifiers are already in full swing. The FFWS SEA event concludes on June 14th, sending eight teams to Riyadh. LATAM will qualify two squads by June 1st, Brazil four by June 22nd, and one team each from Pakistan, the FF MSC, and Bangladesh. As defending champions, Team Falcons secure automatic qualification.
