Set in the fictional 14th-century European land of Vale Sangora, players embody Coen, a Dawnwalker—a being existing between human and vampire. Narrative director Jakub Szamalek describes Coen as relatable and emotionally complex, a departure from typical video game protagonists. Coen's journey begins with a desperate race against time: 30 days and nights to save his family from the tyrannical vampire Brencis, who has plunged Vale Sangora into darkness. While the game operates on a modified timeframe, players can expect extensive gameplay hours. The reveal trailer highlights Coen's unique abilities, hinting at both supernatural powers and occult magic.
Dawnwalkers and a Unique Magic System
The game's FAQ, released on the official Discord server, clarifies the nature of Dawnwalkers. They are not simply hybrids but a distinct entity, possessing both human and vampiric traits. Rebel Wolves emphasizes a grounded magic system, eschewing flashy spells for a more subtle approach rooted in occult practices, rituals, amulets, and summonings.
A Narrative Sandbox with Choices and Consequences
Despite Coen's central quest, The Blood of Dawnwalker promises a narrative sandbox experience.
