Freedom Wars Remastered: A Deep Dive into Weapon Types

Freedom Wars Remastered allows players to equip two weapons of their choice for each Operation, offering diverse strategic options. With six distinct weapon types available, players can tailor their character to any preferred playstyle. The game features three gun types and three melee types, all fully customizable. Let's explore each weapon type's unique attributes:

Every Weapon Type in Freedom Wars Remastered

Six weapon types are available, obtainable through Operations or Zakka's store in The Warren. While Comrades' weapons are fixed, players can freely customize their Accessory's weapon. Weapon changes are penalty-free, allowing for frequent switching.

Weapon Type Traits
Light Melee Quick attacks, ideal for fast-paced combat against single targets. Can sever Abductor limbs without a Flare Knife.
Heavy Melee Wide-ranging attacks inflicting high damage. Well-placed attacks multiply damage by hitting multiple limbs. Charged attacks launch the player into the air. Slightly reduces movement speed.
Polearm Attacks involve charging through enemies, providing mobility and evasion. Charged attacks launch the polearm for significant ranged damage.
Assault Weapons High ammo capacity, perfect for gun-focused builds. Can be fired while grappled with your Thorne for advantageous angles or safe distance.
Portable Artillery High single-shot damage but low ammo capacity. Explosive area-of-effect shots can hit multiple limbs for increased damage. Reduces movement speed.
Autocannons High rate of fire with large ammo capacity and magazine size. Individual shots have lower damage, compensated by rapid fire. Reduces movement speed.

Unlike the player character, the Accessory's gun weapons have unlimited ammo.
