With the recent conclusion of Pocket Gamer Connects in London, we had the opportunity to get hands-on with some exciting new game releases. Among them, the word-based puzzler WordPix particularly caught our attention. In WordPix, players are tasked with deducing specific words from simple images, making for an engaging and mentally stimulating experience.
During the conference, our editor, Dann Sullivan, was impressed by WordPix's straightforward yet captivating gameplay. Players are shown a series of images and must guess the associated word. For instance, an image of a scaly reptile might prompt you to guess "Lizard," while a particular rodent could lead you to "Capybara." While the concept isn't overly complex, it provides a great way to exercise your brain on the go.
WordPix offers a variety of modes to keep the game fresh and engaging. Whether you prefer solo play or multiplayer action, there's something for everyone. The game includes Beat the Boss challenges for those looking to test their skills against the computer. Additionally, daily challenges such as Word of the Day and Quote of the Day, along with a Sudoku mode, ensure there's always something new to explore.
**Pix your nose** It's easy to see why WordPix caught Dann's eye. The game features a simple, clean, and readable user interface and graphics, an accessible concept that gradually increases in difficulty, and plenty of variations to keep players engaged. We're hopeful that the developers will continue to add more features as the game launches globally later this year, attracting even more players. Currently, those in the US and UK can enjoy WordPix on iOS, while UK Android users can also join the fun.
