"Elden Ring Testers Unveil Fell Omen's Return Through Morgott's Jump-Scare Invasions"

The Fell Omen bosses of Elden Ring have earned a notorious reputation, and it's thrilling to see FromSoftware unleash them once more in Elden Ring Nightreign, setting them loose across the Lands Between.

One such infamous boss, Morgott, whom players faced later in the original Elden Ring campaign, continues to haunt players in Nightreign. His phantom versions would often surprise players throughout the original game, and this element of surprise has been amplified in Nightreign with an unnamed Fell Omen—essentially an upgraded version of Morgott—who can jump-scare and invade players unexpectedly.

Morgott isn't the only boss capable of invading your squad in Nightreign, but he's particularly fitting. His invasions echo his surprise appearances in Elden Ring, and he comes equipped with new voice lines and additional moves. It's only fair, considering players can bring two friends into the fight, that Morgott gets a few new tricks up his sleeve.

In addition to his invasion capabilities, the Fell Omen can also appear as an end-of-night boss, serving as one of the final challenges players face as the sun sets during the Elden Ring Nightreign test.

Early testers, including the renowned player Let Me Solo Her, encountered the Fell Omen during the Elden Ring Nightreign sessions over the weekend. The general consensus among players is that Morgott, also known as Margit or the Fell Omen, is a formidable and relentless adversary.

On the Elden Ring Nightreign subreddit, one player praised Morgott's invasion mechanic as a standout feature. Other players shared their experiences of being invaded in various locations, from elevators to towers, showcasing Morgott's omnipresence and the potential for humorous encounters.

The unexpected invasions by the Fell Omen have sparked excitement among players, who are eager to see other enemies from the Souls series make surprise appearances. The Pursuer from Dark Souls 2, for example, is a popular suggestion. Personally, I'd love to see Hunters from Bloodborne invade, though that feels like a distant dream.

There may be more to the Fell Omen invasions than meets the eye. GamesRadar reported an invasion where the Omen not only defeated a co-op partner but also left a curse mark on the fallen player. As more players get their hands on the game, it will be fascinating to uncover these deeper mechanics.

Despite server issues during the first network test, a substantial number of players managed to dive into the Lands Between over the weekend. We'll need to wait until May 30 to fully experience Nightreign, but until then, be sure to check out our hands-on impressions of Elden Ring Nightreign.
