Get Ready to Catch Shroodle and Grafaiai in Pokémon GO!
Pokémon GO's new year continues to deliver exciting additions to trainers' collections. Following the arrival of Fidough, Shroodle is the next Pokémon to join the roster, debuting as part of the Fashion Week: Taken Over event on January 15, 2025. Unlike many previous Pokémon introductions, acquiring Shroodle requires a bit more effort.
Shroodle's Debut and Shiny Availability
Shroodle, the Toxic Mouse Pokémon, first appeared in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet before making its way to Pokémon GO. While readily available after its initial event, one important note: Shroodle will not be available in its Shiny form at launch. Expect its Shiny variant to appear in a future event, possibly one focused on Poison-type Pokémon or Team GO Rocket.
Hatching Shroodle from 12KM Eggs
Forget wild spawns – Shroodle is exclusively obtainable by hatching 12KM eggs. These eggs, collected from January 15th onwards (12 AM local time), offer a chance to hatch this new Pokémon. While its hatch rate is likely boosted during the Fashion Week: Taken Over event, it should remain a possibility from 12KM eggs afterward.
Securing 12KM Eggs
Given Shroodle's exclusive hatching method, obtaining 12KM eggs is crucial. These rarer eggs are only rewarded after defeating Team GO Rocket Leaders (Sierra, Arlo, and Cliff) or Giovanni. The Fashion Week: Taken Over event provides an excellent opportunity to stock up, as Team GO Rocket will be more prevalent, and Rocket Radars will be easier to acquire. However, remember you can battle GO Rocket Grunts at any time to challenge the Leaders and earn a 12KM egg (provided you have inventory space).
Evolving Shroodle into Grafaiai
Grafaiai, Shroodle's evolution, also arrives in Pokémon GO on January 15th. Unlike Shroodle, Grafaiai cannot be hatched or found in the wild. Evolution is the only path to obtaining it. This requires 50 Shroodle Candy, so be prepared to hatch multiple Shroodle or make one your buddy to accumulate the necessary Candy.
