Author : Aiden Jan 24,2025

Hello fellow gamers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for August 28th, 2024! Yesterday's presentation was packed with exciting announcements, including several surprise releases. This typically quiet Wednesday is anything but! We've got news, a look at today's eShop additions, and the usual sales updates. Let's dive in!

Partner/Indie World Showcase Delivers a Bounty of Games

Nintendo's strategic showcase format delivered a wave of announcements. Highlights include several surprise releases (detailed below), Capcom Fighting Collection 2, the Suikoden I & II remasters, Yakuza Kiwami, Tetris Forever, MySims, Worms Armageddon: Anniversary Edition, new Atelier and Rune Factory titles, and much more. I highly recommend watching the full video for a comprehensive overview.

Select New Releases

Castlevania Dominus Collection ($24.99)

A fantastic surprise! This third Castlevania compilation features the three Nintendo DS titles: Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, and Order of Ecclesia. It also includes the notoriously poor arcade game, Haunted Castle, alongside an M2-developed remake that significantly improves upon the original. Exceptional emulation and features make this an incredible value.

Pizza Tower ($19.99)

This Wario Land-inspired platformer is a whirlwind of frantic action. Conquer five massive floors of the Pizza Tower to save your restaurant. Fans of Wario's handheld adventures will find this a must-have, but even casual platforming enthusiasts should give it a try. A review is pending.

Goat Simulator 3 ($29.99)

Another surprise release! It's Goat Simulator 3. If you're familiar with the series, you know what to expect. While performance on the Switch isn't guaranteed (more powerful systems have experienced issues), its chaotic nature might even enhance the experience. A wild ride, potentially at the expense of your Switch's sanity.

Peglin ($19.99)

A game that scratches the Peggle itch! This title blends Peggle mechanics with turn-based RPG roguelite elements. Having been previously released on mobile, it translates seamlessly to the Switch. A review is forthcoming.

Doraemon Dorayaki Shop Story ($20.00)

Kairosoft's familiar shop simulation formula gets a Doraemon makeover. Featuring characters from the beloved manga and anime, this title offers a charming take on the classic formula, even including cameos from the creator's other works.

Pico Park 2 ($8.99)

More Pico Park fun! Supporting up to eight players locally or online, this cooperative puzzle game emphasizes teamwork and clever problem-solving. A great choice for fans of the original, though it lacks significant innovation.

Kamitsubaki City Ensemble ($3.99)

An affordable rhythm game featuring Kamitsubaki Studio music. Simple yet enjoyable, especially considering its price point.

SokoPenguin ($4.99)

A classic Sokoban style puzzle game with a penguin twist. One hundred levels of crate-pushing challenges.

Q2 Humanity ($6.80)

Over three hundred quirky physics-based puzzles, featuring drawing mechanics and up to four-player local/online multiplayer.
