Pokémon Go to Test Battle Skills in Sparring Partners Raid Day

Author : Liam May 04,2025

Get ready to rumble as Pokémon Go's Sparring Partners Raid Day charges into action on April 13th. From 2:00 to 5:00 pm local time, you'll have a three-hour window to showcase your battling prowess, hunt for Shiny encounters, and clash with some of the fiercest Fighting-types around. While you're waiting for the debut of Tinkatink, this event promises to be a thrilling showdown.

Leading the charge is Mega Heracross, making its grand entrance into Mega Raids. Don't overlook Hariyama and Scraggy, who will be flexing their muscles in regular raids with enhanced Shiny odds. It's a Fighting-type extravaganza, and you'll need to bring your best counters to the fight.

But the excitement doesn't stop at raids. Sparring Partners Raid Day introduces a new Charged Attack called Upper Hand, which allows featured Pokémon to deal 70 power in Trainer Battles and potentially reduce your opponent's Defense. In raids and gyms, it packs a 50-power punch. This move could be the game-changer you need in your next battle.

The event comes packed with bonuses to enhance your experience. You can snag up to six free Raid Passes by spinning Gym Photo Discs, and for one weekend only, the Remote Raid Pass limit increases to 20, offering more opportunities to battle from a distance.

For just $4.99, you can purchase a ticket that unlocks additional perks, including extra Raid Passes, bonus XP, increased Stardust, and a higher chance of getting Rare Candy XL. Plus, you can redeem *Pokémon Go codes* to score a variety of free rewards.

Make sure to participate in the free Timed Research during the event. Complete it before time runs out, and you'll earn a substantial amount of Stardust and other raid-enhancing boosts. There's also a special ticket bundle available in the Pokémon Go Web Store that includes a Premium Battle Pass.
