In Hazari, the scoring system is straightforward yet strategic. Cards ranked Ace (A), King (K), Queen (Q), Jack (J), and 10 each carry a value of 10 points. Meanwhile, cards 9 through 2 are worth 5 points each. This point distribution adds a layer of strategy to the game, as players aim to maximize their scores with each hand.
Each player is dealt 13 cards, which must be arranged into sets of 3, 3, 3, and 4. The essence of Hazari lies in comparing 3-card combinations, ranked from highest to lowest as follows:
- Troy: Three Aces, the ultimate combination.
- Colour Run: Three consecutive cards of the same suit, such as 3-4-5 of Hearts.
- Run: Three consecutive cards of any suit, for example, 7-8-9.
- Colour: Three cards of the same suit, like three Diamonds.
- Pair: Two cards of the same rank with any third card, such as two Kings and a 7.
- Indie: Three cards with no specific order or suit, the lowest ranking combination.
