Author : Aria Jan 07,2025

Long awaited by players across PC and consoles, crossplay is finally coming to Baldur's Gate 3 with Patch 8! While a firm release date isn't set, a stress test in January 2025 will give select players early access. Want to be one of them? Read on to learn how to participate.

When Will Baldur's Gate 3 Crossplay Arrive?

Patch 8, incorporating crossplay, lacks an official release date. However, a stress test in January 2025 will allow a limited number of players to experience the new feature and other Patch 8 improvements ahead of time. This testing phase helps Larian Studios identify and fix bugs, ensuring a smoother launch for everyone.

How to Join the Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 8 Stress Test

To participate, register for Larian's Stress Test. You'll need a Larian account; sign in or create one, then complete the straightforward registration form. Provide basic information, including your gaming platform (PC, PlayStation, or Xbox).

Selection isn't guaranteed. Successful applicants will receive an email with further instructions. Participants will provide feedback through forms and Discord.

More Than Just Crossplay

The stress test also evaluates the patch's effects on mods. Mod users and creators should sign up to help ensure compatibility.

Crucially, all players in your intended crossplay group must register. Otherwise, you'll need to wait for the full release in 2025.

Baldur's Gate 3's enduring popularity speaks volumes. Crossplay promises to further strengthen the community by connecting players across different platforms to explore Faerûn together.
