What Is Clair Obscur: Expedition 33?
Developed by the French studio Sandfall Interactive, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a turn-based RPG with real-time elements during battles. It's set in a dark fantasy world where the Paintress, a powerful entity, awakens annually to paint a number on her monolith. When she does, everyone of that age vanishes. As the game begins, the Paintress is about to wake and paint the number 33. You play as Expedition 33, a group of 33-year-olds determined to stop her.
The combat system is a highlight of the game. While turn-based, it allows for more than just selecting attacks. Players can dodge, parry, and counter enemy moves, chain combos with rhythmic button presses, and use a free-aim system to target weak points.
