The eagerly awaited Days Gone Remastered is drawing closer, and Sony's Bend Studio has shared exciting details about the enhanced accessibility features for the upcoming version of the game. One standout addition is the ability to slow down the Game Speed during intense gameplay moments, providing players with a much-needed breather when things get hectic.
In a recent PlayStation Blog post, Kevin McAllister, Bend Studio's Creative & Product Lead, outlined the various accessibility options that will be included in Days Gone Remastered. Players can now adjust the Game Speed from 100% down to 75%, 50%, and even 25%. This feature aims to assist players who may feel overwhelmed during high-pressure scenarios, particularly when battling the game's iconic hordes of Freakers. McAllister emphasized that with the introduction of the new Horde Assault mode in the remaster, this adjustment makes the unique combat experience more accessible to a broader audience.
Beyond the Game Speed option, Days Gone Remastered will offer an array of accessibility enhancements, including customizable subtitle colors, a High Contrast Mode, UI Narration, and Collectible Audio Cues. Additionally, the auto-complete QTE feature, which was previously limited to Easy difficulty, will now be available across all difficulty levels, from Easy to Survival II.
Bend Studio has also confirmed that most of these new accessibility features will be rolled out to the PC version of Days Gone. However, certain features like feedback and control customization will require a compatible controller to fully utilize.
Days Gone Remastered was officially announced in February, promising not only these accessibility improvements but also an enhanced photo mode, permadeath and speedrun options, and more. Set in a post-apocalyptic world filled with zombies, the remastered version of the 2019 biker-centric action-adventure game is slated for release on April 25, 2025. For those who already own the PS4 version, an upgrade to the PS5 remastered edition will be available for just $10.
