Even though Yetuga is your first boss encounter in the game, don't let that fool you into thinking it'll be a walk in the park. After getting familiar with the combat mechanics in *The First Berserker: Khazan*, you'll need to utilize every skill at your disposal to emerge victorious.

Yetuga is an aggressive adversary, relentlessly attacking when its territory is threatened, especially as you reach the climax of the Mount Heinmach level. Much like the other formidable beasts you've faced, Yetuga can execute both long and short-range attacks, including a powerful leaping slam.

Tailor your strategy to your playstyle, focusing on dodging and parrying to minimize damage. Yetuga's arsenal includes:

  • A two-hit combo starting with a left-handed downward smash followed by a right-handed uppercut
  • A four-hit combo with horizontal swipes using either its left or right arm
  • A downward smash with both arms
  • A leaping single-handed smash
  • A jumping grab
  • A charge

As you engage in combat, you'll start to recognize Yetuga's attack patterns, allowing you to strike back during brief windows of opportunity. Parrying is particularly effective against all attacks except the jumping grab, as it not only helps you avoid damage but also inflicts significant Stamina damage on the boss. Exploit Yetuga's aggressive nature by dodging its charge and letting it crash into a wall, which momentarily stuns it and leaves it open for attack. This is your chance to break the ice spikes on its back, thereby reducing its offensive capabilities.

In the second phase, continue to parry all attacks except the grab to conserve your Stamina. Maintain the offensive pressure, and when Yetuga roars and powers up, quickly create some distance. It will then wield a massive rock to slam towards you, so time your dodge or parry perfectly to evade damage. Be wary of its new frost breath that spawns ice spikes; either retreat or parry when the attack comes your way. Seize opportunities to land Potent Attacks, and when Yetuga tires, unleash a Brutal Attack for significant damage, hastening its defeat.

Upon defeating Yetuga, you'll be rewarded with 4,800 Lacrima, along with several Frozen Mountain gear items and the Necklace of Resolve.

This guide encapsulates everything you need to know to triumph over Yetuga in *The First Berserker: Khazan*. For further assistance with the game, explore resources on The Escapist.
