In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, missing certain side tasks can be frustrating, especially when there's no chance to return and complete them. One such task is finding Rosa's book, which is crucial not only for the quest but also for potential romantic developments with Rosa. Let's dive into how to unlock and complete the "Rosa's Book" side quest.
Unlocking the Rosa's Book Side Quest
To unlock this side quest, you first need to complete the "Via Argentum" quest and initiate "Taking French Leave." During "Taking French Leave," you'll assist the Ruthard family in dealing with Vavak, either through force or persuasion. After resolving this, you're directed to speak with Rosa, who reveals a secret passage into Maleshov that you can use to rescue Hans. During your conversation, Rosa mentions her book and asks you to retrieve it for her while you're in Maleshov. Make sure to ask her what book it is and promise to bring it back to her to officially start the "Rosa's Book" quest.

It's important to note that you can only complete this quest during "Taking French Leave." If you leave Maleshov with Hans without finding the book, the quest fails, and you'll miss out on the opportunity to romance Rosa.
Upon entering Maleshov, Hans is located in the largest tower at the top. Use the side stairs to access the entrance. Sneak inside, and you'll find another set of stairs near a small kitchen. Wait in the kitchen until the guards upstairs leave the tower.

Next, quietly ascend the stairs to a room where Lady Ofka is sitting, facing the fireplace. Sneak up behind her and knock her out. Take the keys from her body, the keys from the podium in her room, and the sword from the chest. In this room, you'll find Rosa's book to the right of the fireplace, resting in a window alcove. Pick it up, and your objective will update to return the book to Rosa.

While in the area, don't forget to grab another sword from the chest in the adjacent room. This will save you time when you meet Hans, as you'll need two weapons for him and his surprise guest. Once you have everything, head to the top level and unlock the door on the left to trigger a cutscene.
After the cutscene, continue with "Taking French Leave." Although Hans might be hesitant to use the passageway, you can work towards romancing him by selecting the dialogue option with a heart symbol, provided you chose the heart option in Trosky as well. From there, sneak to the stables on the north side of Maleshov, dealing with guards as necessary. Clear a path, signal Hans, and ensure he reaches the stables safely.
Once you open the gate, another cutscene will play, marking the end of the quest. After the cutscene, head back to Kuttenberg City and stop by Ruthard Palace to deliver Rosa's book in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*.
