Elden Ring Nightreign’s release date is fast approaching, and fans are eagerly awaiting the chance to dive into this multiplayer Souls RPG. FromSoftware unveiled an overview trailer on May 2, providing a comprehensive look at Nightreign’s lore, features, mechanics, and more.As highlighted in the trailer, "ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN is a co-op survival action game where you navigate a vast and dangerous field with other players. You must become one of the Nightfarers, fighting through the endless night and taking on scores of vicious foes over the span of three days."
The video gives fans a glimpse of what to expect from the game and outlines the structure of each playthrough. Players will be dropped into the land of Limveld to hunt the Nightlords that dominate the area. The objective is to defeat these rulers, navigating through the terrain by overcoming enemies, discovering treasures, and more.
The gameplay loop involves gathering resources during the day and confronting formidable bosses at night. Each passing day shrinks the map and introduces new enemies. By the end of the third day, players must vanquish a powerful Nightlord to successfully conclude their expedition.
According to the trailer, "the layout of Limveld will change each time you visit." This dynamic environment means that bases, enemy types, chest rewards, and other elements will vary and be randomized with each new run. Explorations can be disrupted by sudden enemy ambushes or unexpected events such as meteor strikes or volcanic eruptions, adding an extra layer of challenge and excitement.
Last 2 Classes Teased
The overview trailer offered a tantalizing look at the final two classes of Nightreign, yet to be officially revealed. During the character selection screen, a new character named Executor was spotted.
As seen in the trailer, Executor appears to be a knight wielding a sword, capable of imbuing it with power. A brief clip showcased him skillfully parrying and countering an enemy. Additionally, towards the end of the Nightfarers segment, a glimpse of another character was teased—a female Nightfarer with greyish hair, wielding a harp.
Fans can look forward to detailed character trailers for these Nightfarers in the coming weeks as Nightreign approaches its release date.
The Roundtable Hold
Nightreign features a base called the Roundtable Hold, where players can prepare for their battles in Limveld. This hidden area allows players to equip relics, purchase items, and customize their characters.
Relics, which are items recovered from expeditions, can enhance players’ abilities. Experimenting with different relic combinations offers diverse gameplay experiences, encouraging players to find the setup that best fits their playstyle. These relics are available at the base from a Jar Merchant, who accepts a currency called "Murk," earned through battle rewards.
Players can also use the "fitting mirror" to change their characters’ attire. These costumes are purely cosmetic and do not affect gameplay. The trailer showcased some of the available outfits, including exciting previews of beloved Souls costumes such as Solaire of Astora, Faraam, the God of War, and Ringfinger Leonhard from Dark Souls 3.
Moreover, players can collect "fragments of lost memories" during their expeditions, which enrich the lore of each Nightfarer. These memories may introduce new objectives for players to achieve during their runs, unveiling the origins and purposes of each Nightfarer upon completion.

Nightreign’s PC requirements are surprisingly lenient, given the game's intense challenges. FromSoftware shared the game’s minimum and recommended settings on Twitter (X) on April 28, which are well within reach for most gaming setups.
The difference between the minimum and recommended specs is minimal, with the minimum requiring an Intel Core i5 10600 or Ryzen 5 5500, and the recommended calling for an Intel Core i5 11500 or Ryzen 5 5600. Memory requirements are also close, at 12 GB and 16 GB, respectively.
Graphics card needs are similarly approachable, with the minimum being a GTX 1060 or Radeon RX 580, and the recommended a GTX 1070 or Radeon RX Vega 56. Fans have praised FromSoftware’s focus on optimization, noting the game's modest 30 GB storage requirement.
