Nintendo is thrilled to announce the grand opening of its second official store in the United States, situated in the heart of San Francisco's Union Square at 331 Powell Street. The launch on May 15 marks a significant expansion for the gaming giant, following the success of their New York location, previously known as the Nintendo World Store. This iconic store underwent renovations and a rebranding to Nintendo NY before its reopening in 2016. The new San Francisco store promises to bring the same level of excitement and engagement to fans on the West Coast.
IGN had the privilege of visiting the new San Francisco store to explore what Nintendo has in store for its fans. Additionally, we had the opportunity to sit down with Nintendo of America's President, Doug Bowser, to discuss the strategic decision behind opening their first West Coast store at this time.
Naturally, our conversation with Doug Bowser couldn't bypass the much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2, set to launch on June 5. We delved into details about the Switch 2's availability in the U.S. at launch and beyond, the controversial Game-Key Cards, and much more. Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the exciting launch date.
