This event, part of Version 5.2's second phase, might initially appear complex, but its tactical RPG mechanics become intuitive with practice. The generous rewards, including Primogems, make it a worthwhile endeavor. Here's a guide to participation and the rewards you can claim.
Event Entry Requirements:
To join the Exercise Surging Storm event, you'll need:
- Adventure Rank 20 or higher.
- Completion of the Mondstadt Archon Quest Prologue.
Start your event journey at the Knights of Favonius Headquarters in Mondstadt.
Gameplay Mechanics:
The event begins with helpful tutorials. Here's a simplified overview:
Before each wargame, select Combat Units (your troops) and Stratagems (buffs/power-ups). Units have different types (AoE Damage, Flying, Ranged, Melee), each with strengths and weaknesses (e.g., Melee counters Ranged).
Analyze your opponent's lineup and adjust yours using the bottom-right diagram. Remember, changing your lineup costs Reinforcement Points, so strategize carefully.
Unit types explained:
- Melee Units: High damage absorption, low speed.
- Ranged Units: Long-range attacks, low health.
- AoE DMG Units: Damage multiple units simultaneously.
- Flying Units: Evade ground attacks, immune to certain damage types.
Level up units for increased effectiveness by re-selecting them for subsequent rounds. Refresh Combat Units and Stratagems for better options. Elemental Reactions function as they do in the main game; use them strategically.
Winning isn't essential! Even losses earn Wargame Medals, accumulating towards rewards. Wins yield more medals, but consistent participation guarantees rewards, albeit at a slower pace.
