Grand Mountain Adventure 2, the eagerly awaited sequel by Toppluva, promises even more thrills for snowsports enthusiasts. As avid extreme sports fans, our App Army readers were excited to dive into this game and share their experiences. Here's what they had to say:

Oskana Ryan

At first, I found Grand Mountain Adventure 2 a bit frustrating due to the learning curve with the controls. I spent some time crashing into objects and spinning in circles before I got the hang of it. Once I mastered the controls, the game really opened up. It's not just about racing down slopes; there are plenty of challenges and other skiers to dodge. The graphics are impressive, and it offers more than your typical downhill runner, keeping you engaged with various activities.

Grand Mountain Adventure 2 is the perfect open-world skiing and snowboarding sequel, continuing the outdoor fun from the first game. As a novice in winter sports, I found it incredibly easy to get into GMA2. The game lets you live out those thrilling dreams of pulling off stunts in vibrant gear, descending mountains at breakneck speeds. The laid-back vibe encourages you to play at your own pace, which I appreciate. There's an abundance of challenges and activities, with new items to unlock as you explore. The environments are stunning, with detailed snow and day-to-night transitions. The intuitive controls had me executing tricks in minutes, and the realistic movement of my character through the snow is testament to the passion poured into this series. It's a must-have for mobile gaming enthusiasts.

Grand Mountain Adventure 2 leans more towards an arcade-style ski and snowboarding experience rather than a hardcore sim. From an overhead view, you guide your character down various mountain courses. Completing challenges earns you passes to unlock higher lifts, propelling you further up the mountain. The game's visuals are impressive, and the touch controls are responsive, allowing you to zoom down slopes and execute jumps effortlessly. The sound effects, especially the snow-slicing sound, enhance the experience. My only gripe is that the text can be hard to read at times, but overall, it's a solid recommendation.

As someone who enjoys real-life skiing but hasn't done it often, I was pleasantly surprised by how much you can do in Grand Mountain Adventure 2 without spending a dime. This open-world game lets you freely ski, snowboard, and even paraglide across the mountain. Completing challenges earns you ski points to unlock more map features. To reach the summit, you'll need to unlock all the lifts, eventually leading to a balloon ride to another mountain (this part requires purchasing the full game). Exploring the map to find glowing points and setting markers to navigate is essential. As you progress, you'll unlock a backpack for more equipment and a telescope to enjoy the scenic views. The graphics and sound effects are top-notch, making the gameplay feel incredibly immersive. The game includes mini-games with different perspectives, reminiscent of classic games like Ski or Die. It's a no-brainer to download from the App Stores, especially since you can try it for free before deciding to buy.

The graphics in Grand Mountain Adventure 2 are stunning, but the controls could be more user-friendly for casual gamers. A simulation game like this might struggle to attract casual players without more detailed, interactive tutorials. Perhaps the developers could introduce a simplified control scheme to cater to this audience. On mobile, the market is predominantly casual gamers, so this could be a key to broader appeal.

I dabbled with the first game in the series but never fully committed. With the sequel, I'm ready to dive in. As a skiing enthusiast who hasn't hit the slopes in years, GMA2 brings back those Colorado resort vibes. From ski lifts to fellow skiers and buildings, the game captures the essence perfectly. You have the freedom to ski on or slightly off the designated paths, always mindful of obstacles like structures, rocks, trees, and other skiers. The feel is fantastic, with numerous items and tricks to master and unlock. The detailed graphics and crisp sound effects, from the crunch of the snow to the impact sounds, are spot-on. The controls have a short learning curve, and I'm eager to spend more time in this game. It's like a virtual ski vacation.

I'm not a huge skiing fan, but Grand Mountain Adventure 2 is an impressive simulation. The controls took some getting used to, but once mastered, they were effective. Navigating uphill was challenging, and I often wished I could just walk. However, it was a good way to practice. The ski runs were enjoyable, though initially, I collided with people, trees, animals, and fences. With practice, I improved. The scenery and graphics are delightful, with many small details to appreciate. I highly recommend trying the demo; chances are you'll want to purchase the full version.

I never got around to playing the first Grand Mountain Adventure, but GMA2's graphics immediately caught my attention. The level of detail, down to the tracks in the snow, is remarkable. I've put in a few hours and am gradually improving. To progress, you need to complete goals to unlock new areas. The map is helpful, though it can be confusing to know where to go next. Small conveniences like speeding up the chair lift by holding the screen are appreciated. The controls are straightforward, with additional moves unlocked as you advance. Finding the backpack allows you to collect more equipment. The game is challenging but motivates you to keep trying. I'm still working on flips and spins, but it reminds me of Alto's Odyssey in an open-world setting. I'm thoroughly enjoying it and plan to explore more to unlock additional areas. Two thumbs up.
