How to Start Battle of Frogs and Mice in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
The Battle of the Frogs and Mice side quest unlocks in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* after completing either the Mice or Frogs quests for Prochek and Olbram. Regardless of which side you choose initially, this follow-up quest will become available.
Simply speak with Prochek in Tachov or Olbram in Zhelejov to begin. The quest will then direct you to a nearby pasture where the conflict unfolds.
Should You Side With Prochek or Olbram?
Henry faces another difficult choice between Prochek and Olbram, though peaceful resolution remains possible (detailed below).
To support either faction:
- For Prochek: Speak with him in Tachov and exclaim "Let's get those Zhelejovites!"
- For Olbram: Find him in Zhelejov and declare "Let's go and see those Tachovites!"
During pasture negotiations, attempting immediate reconciliation will prematurely trigger combat. However, passing dialogue checks can make one opponent flee, simplifying the ensuing fight.
Victory rewards you with groschen regardless of your chosen faction.
How to Stop the Feud
For a more satisfying conclusion, pursue reconciliation:
When initially speaking with either faction leader, inquire about ending hostilities. Then visit Bailiff Thrush in Troskowitz and select "You'd finally have some peace" during dialogue.
Passing this persuasion check grants access to the Troskowitz Chronicle in the scribe's chamber. If persuasion fails, stealthily enter the room instead (save beforehand).
Consult the scribe and recite: "Fecit, ordinem in regione ope clavi ferrei."
At the pasture, locate three aligned oak trees and examine the central one to discover a nail:
- Middle tree: Divides pasture equally between villages
- West tree: Favors Tachov's claim
- East tree: Favors Zhelejov's claim
This decision carries minimal gameplay impact - choose based on preference or remain neutral. Present your decision to Bailiff Thrush to formalize the truce.
Finally, convince Prochek or Olbram to meet at the pasture, successfully ending their rivalry. Return to Bailiff Thrush to receive the Master Studies I book as reward.
