Honkai Star Rail: Apocalyptic Shadow Character Usage Revealed

Honkai: Star Rail's Apocalyptic Shadow Mode: Top Performing Characters Revealed

A newly released fan-made chart reveals the most frequently used characters in Honkai: Star Rail's challenging Apocalyptic Shadow mode. This permanent mode, unlocked after completing the "Grim Film of Finality" mission, provides a tough test of team composition and strategic depth, similar to Pure Fiction and Forgotten Hall. Success in the first two stages currently rewards players with Xueyi.

The data, compiled by Reddit user LvlUrArti, highlights a clear preference for certain characters. Among five-star units, Ruan Mei dominates with an impressive 89.31% usage rate. Close behind are Acheron (74.79%) and Firefly (58.49%), followed by Fu Xuan (56.75%).

The top four-star performers are equally noteworthy. Gallagher leads the pack at 65.14%, with Pela showing a significant presence at 37.74%. The chart also indicates that high-scoring teams frequently include Firefly, Ruan Mei, the Trailblazer, and Gallagher. Surprisingly, some four-star characters like Xueyi and Sushang also rank highly.

Future updates to Apocalyptic Shadow are planned, including a new boss encounter. Version 2.5 will introduce Phantylia the Undying, a familiar foe from Xianzhou Lufou, known for its three-phase attack pattern, lotus summons, and varied damage types (Wind, Lightning, and Imaginary).

Rewards for tackling Apocalyptic Shadow include valuable in-game currency like Stellar Jades, enhancement materials (Refined Aether, Traveler's Guide, Lucent Afterglow, and Lost Crystal), crucial for upgrading Light Cones and relics, and acquiring Rail Passes.
