The RTX 5090 Is the Most Powerful Graphics Card Ever

The Nvidia 50-series GPUs were unveiled at CES 2025, with a strong focus on enhanced AI capabilities rather than traditional raster performance improvements. The new DLSS 4 technology is claimed to quadruple frame rates with minimal visual impact. While there is a modest performance increase over the previous RTX 40-series, the value proposition for gamers is still under debate.

In our review, IGN's Jackie Thomas stated, "The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 has claimed the performance crown from the RTX 4090, though not as decisively as in past generations. In terms of non-AI gaming performance, the RTX 5090 offers one of the smallest generational improvements we've seen. However, when DLSS 4 is utilized in supported games, the performance boost is significant, albeit with 75% of the frames being AI-generated."
