How To Use Legacy XP Tokens in Black Ops 6

Author : Aria Jan 11,2025

The return of the classic Call of Duty Prestige system in Black Ops 6 has made XP grinding more popular than ever. Players familiar with recent CoD titles like Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone have a potential shortcut: Legacy XP Tokens. Here's how to utilize them.

What are Legacy XP Tokens in Black Ops 6?

Following the Season 01 update to Black Ops 6 and Warzone, many players discovered a surplus of previously unseen XP tokens in Black Ops 6. These were quickly used to boost XP, weapon XP, and Battle Pass progression. However, a November 15th update addressed a bug that allowed these tokens to be activated within the Black Ops 6 interface.

These Legacy XP Tokens are unused XP tokens carried over from previous CoD titles (like Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III, or Warzone) via the COD HQ app. These tokens were earned through various means in those games, such as DMZ missions, Battle Pass tiers, and promotions with brands like Little Caesar's and Monster Energy. While usable in Warzone, their application in Black Ops 6 has changed.

Using Warzone XP Tokens in Black Ops 6

Initially, players could activate their Legacy XP Tokens from Warzone directly within Black Ops 6. This functionality was temporarily removed. However, a workaround existed.

The workaround involved activating the Legacy XP Tokens in Warzone. The token and its timer would then appear in the Black Ops 6 UI. This method required switching between games and the timers counted down in real-time, but it provided a faster leveling path.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone are available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
