To successfully track and identify the most dangerous ghosts in Phasmophobia, players occasionally need to utilize high-risk Cursed Possessions that offer valuable advantages. Among these, the Haunted Mirror stands out as particularly useful. Here's how to use it effectively while minimizing risks.

How to Use Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia

Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia

The Haunted Mirror is arguably the safest Cursed Object in Phasmophobia, offering substantial benefits with relatively low risk. Its core functionality has remained consistent through updates, making it a highly recommended tool when available.

This powerful item reveals the ghost's current favorite room by displaying a panoramic view of the space. For players familiar with map layouts, this allows rapid ghost location and equipment setup before hunts begin.

You'll typically find the Haunted Mirror mounted on walls (like in 6 Tanglewood Drive) or placed in predetermined positions. While spawn locations are fixed, which Cursed Object appears varies randomly.

To activate the mirror, pick it up and press the interaction button to examine its surface. The reflection will show the ghost's primary location - though remember ghosts can wander on Professional difficulty or higher.

Exercise caution when using the mirror: prolonged viewing drains sanity, and holding it until it shatters triggers an immediate Cursed Hunt at your position. Always use it with high sanity and quickly interpret the reflection.

Cursed Possessions (commonly called Cursed Objects) are special items that randomly appear on maps, with spawn rates affected by difficulty settings and Challenge Mode.

Unlike standard investigation tools that gather evidence safely, Cursed Objects provide shortcuts for ghost interaction - but with significantly higher danger. Players must carefully weigh each object's risk/reward ratio, as using them remains completely optional.

While typically only one Cursed Possession spawns per contract (outside Custom settings), there are seven distinct types available:

  • Summoning Circle
  • Haunted Mirror
  • Voodoo Doll
  • Music Box
  • Tarot Cards
  • Ouija Board
  • Monkey Paw
