"Monster Hunter Wilds Surpasses 10 Million Sales, Capcom Reveals Success Secrets"

Author : Riley May 25,2025

The incredible success of Monster Hunter Wilds continues unabated, having now surpassed the monumental milestone of 10 million units sold. This achievement marks a new record for Capcom, representing the highest first-month sales in the company's history. Previously, Wilds had already set the pace as the fastest-selling game for Capcom, reaching 8 million copies sold in just three days.

In a statement to the press, Capcom attributed the game's extraordinary performance to several key factors. Notably, the introduction of crossplay and the simultaneous launch across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC have been pivotal in broadening the game's appeal. Unlike its predecessor, Monster Hunter World, which saw a delayed PC release, Wilds hit all platforms on day one, allowing a wider audience to dive in together.

Capcom further elaborated that the addition of the innovative Focus Mode mechanic, along with seamless transitions between settlements and ecosystems, has significantly enhanced the immersive experience. The blend of new features with the core Monster Hunter allure has sparked widespread excitement, culminating in the record-breaking sales figures.

Looking ahead, Monster Hunter Wilds is set to expand with its first title update on April 4. Title Update 1 will introduce a fan-favorite monster and the Grand Hub, a new social space for players to gather and interact. Following that, Title Update 2, slated for the summer, will bring back the beloved Lagiacrus. The Monster Hunter franchise made a significant impact in Western markets with the 2018 release of World, which remains Capcom's best-selling game to date, with 21.3 million units sold. However, given the trajectory of Wilds, it's poised to potentially outstrip even those impressive numbers.
