The second free title update for Monster Hunter Wilds is arriving very soon, as revealed during today's Capcom Spotlight broadcast. It launches on June 30, a date many fans already anticipated following leaks earlier this week.
This update introduces two exciting new hunts: Seregios, returning from Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, and the long-awaited Lagiacrus from Monster Hunter Tri. Known for its speed in the water and its legendary rivalry with Rathalos, Lagiacrus makes a triumphant return. While direct underwater combat is limited in Monster Hunter Wilds, the hunt does feature aquatic environments with special interactions and mechanics, preserving the spirit of the original encounters.
Alongside these monster additions, the update includes a range of fresh content. Available from June 30, players can enjoy layered weapon options, enhanced photo mode settings, the ability to change handlers, a Fender guitar collaboration gesture, a free gesture set, new paid cosmetic items, and various other rewards and equipment additions.
Starting July 23, the seasonal Festival of Accord: Flamefete event will begin, running until August 6 and offering limited-time gear and exclusive bonuses. Then on July 30, face the new Arch-tempered Uth Duna monster, complete with a challenging quest and uniquely designed equipment rewards.
We awarded Monster Hunter Wilds an 8 in our initial review, noting: "Monster Hunter Wilds continues to refine the series' formula in clever ways, delivering incredibly engaging battles, though seasoned hunters may find the overall challenge somewhat subdued."
The second free title update is available at no extra cost to all Monster Hunter Wilds owners and releases in just four days on June 30. Catch up on all the announcements from today's Capcom Spotlight here.
