"Nintendo Switch 2 Fans Applaud as Zelda Speedrunner Defeats Boss in Under 10 Minutes"

A speedrunner for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild achieved a remarkable feat by completing the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the beloved RPG at the Nintendo Switch 2 Experience event in Japan, where playtime was limited to just 10 minutes.

As reported by VGC, Japanese content creator Ikaboze managed this impressive run using an existing save file, unaware of the equipment available to Link. He boldly decided to "defeat the final boss while tied up completely naked and with all my equipment removed." Starting from a save that positioned him directly at the final battle with Ganon, Ikaboze triumphed in just seven minutes, prompting spontaneous applause from the onlookers.

The achievement was all the more impressive because Ikaboze was using an unfamiliar controller and couldn't hear the game over the noise of the convention hall.

“I was surprised by how many people had gathered,” he remarked. “Staff were even filming on their smartphones. This was the first time anyone had completed the Breath of the Wild demo, and the staff congratulated me."

The Nintendo Switch 2 Enhanced Edition of Breath of the Wild boasts improved visuals and performance, introduces achievements, and supports the new "Zelda Notes" service within the Nintendo Switch Online app. Owners of the original Breath of the Wild on the Switch can upgrade to these new features with a $10 "upgrade pack." Additionally, both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom upgrade packs are available at no extra cost for Nintendo Switch Online and Expansion Pack subscribers.
